Scuba Diving Instructor
Share your love for scuba diving with your students by becoming a PADI Scuba diving Instructor in Koh Phangan Thailand. PADI is the largest diving training agency worldwide with dive centers all around the globe. Our PADI Scuba Diving Instructor Training Course (IDC) will teach you to instruct divers to learn diving in the safest and most thorough way. Our staff instructors will share their experience with you and practice working with students in the classroom, the swimming pool and ocean settings. Our aim is not only to make you confident in the classroom and the swimming pool, but to give you a good understanding on how and plan all diving activities in the best way for the students and for yourself. Thus, we will have a close look at each dive course that you are likely to teach in the future so as to understand what skills and theory are involved in each course.
PADI IDC Prerequisites
- You need to be a PADI Divemaster or equivalent (Please Contact us for more information on equivalent certifications)
Have been a diver for at least 6 months.
- Be at least 18 years old
- You need to have 60 logged dives* including deep, night and navigation dives, 100 dives are required to attend the PADI Examinations.
- You need to have written proof of CPR training, such as Emergency First Response within the last 24 months
- Have a current medical certificate dated within 12 months signed by a doctor view the medical here
- Be a current EFRI - can be completed during the IDC and is included in our standard IDC package.
The PADI Open Water Scuba instructor (OWSI)
The PADI Instructor Development Course (PADI IDC) on Koh Phangan will provide you with additional training that allows you to teach scuba diving lessons and implement the PADI system wherever you decide to work. During the class time (in our air-conditioned classrooms), you will learn how to apply PADI standards, how to teach diving courses in the classroom, in confined water and in the open water. You will also learn how to market PADI diving courses effectively. The PADI IDC also helps you to gain a complete understanding of PADI’s educational goals and philosophies.
The Instructor Development Course, including the prep course, lasts fourteen days and is followed by the two-day instructor examination (IE), which is conducted by an independent instructor examiner from PADI headquarters.
PADI Emergency First Responder Instructor
During this one day we will cover all procedures of the PADI EFR course and give advice on how to run the PADI Emergency First Response Course efficiently. Upon successful completion of this additional instructor course, candidates will be able to independently run the PADI EFR program.
Please note: Being an EFR Instructor is mandatory to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI).
The PADI IDC begins with independent learning and is divided into four components
- Prep course covering dive theory and skill development – 2 days
- PADI Assistant Instructor Course (AI) – Day 1-4
- PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) – Day 5-11
- Mock IE – 2 days
The PADI IDC course is scheduled between 08:30 to 18:00 each day. A lunch break will be fitted in where is convenient.

Ascents and Descents, Buoyancy control, Buddy Breathing, Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascent, Rescue exercises, lift bag, knots, navigation, PPB, student control and scenarios.
Planning, organizing, scheduling all the PADI Courses in different environments.
With a relaxed, low stress 14 day PADI IDC you can focus and elaborate on specific topics, review certain parts of the program, give extra time or lectures to our candidates.
The main focus of our program is to give the best knowledge to our candidates before they start teaching Scuba Diving.
2 Remedial Days.
PADI Instructor examinations
The PADI Instructor Examination (IE) is held on the 2 days following the IDC. An independent instructor examiner from PADI headquarters conducts the IE. By the time you reach the examination, you will have covered all you need to know, to pass with confidence. Each diving instructor candidate is tested on their ability to teach in the classroom, confined water and the open water, Rescue evaluation and a demonstration of 5 random skills from the skill circuit. Dive Theory knowledge is assessed by the completion of 5 written exams in physics, dive physiology, diving equipment, general diving skills and environment, as well as the recreational dive planner. Knowledge of the PADI system is tested by an ‘open book’ exam on PADI General Standards and Procedures.
